Stars

"Stars '24" took place on the morning of Wednesday 22nd May at the King's Hall, Ilkley, and what a morning it was!  So much talent was displayed by the performers from All Saints, Ashlands and Burley Oaks Primary Schools!  It was an awesome morning!

A huge variety of performances took place.  Amazing gymnastic teams were performing all manner of jaw-dropping moves, instrumentalists playing saxophone, cornet, violin and electric guitar solos.  We had a choir, a band, a poetry recitalist, percussion and singing, and several little girls with glorious voices all singing solos and with such confidence. 

 There were brilliant piano soloists, one of whom played his own composition with such tenderness and sensitivity.  It deserves to be recorded

The Clifton and Lightcliffe Brass Band will take to the stage once more to entertain on behalf of the Denis Sharp Memorial Fund.  Tickets cost £15.00 and are available by telephone from Elizabeth Sharp on 01943 872607 or by receipt of a stamped addressed envelope to 11 Aysgarth Court, 3 Clifford Drive, Menston, Ilkley, LS29 6FY.

Once again, the Concert will be held at the Hollygarth Social Club, Leeds Road, at 7.30 pm on Friday 22nd March.  The Hollygarth is an ideal venue with ample parking, licensed premises and coffee will be available throughout the event.

All funds raised will be devoted to the "Stars" primary school variety show at the Kings Hall on Wednesday 22nd May, supported by Ashlands, All Saints and Burley Oaks Primary in

2024's Stars For a Day will be held on Wednesday 22nd May 2024 at the King's Hall, Ilkley between 9.15 am and 11.30 am.

Free admission and free entry for local Schools.

Just an update on "Stars", taking place at the King's Hall on Wednesday 17th May.  The start time is 9.15 am by which time I hope all three schools will be settled in the hall and ready to start the morning's performances.  It finishes at 11.40 or thereabouts, to allow the children time to return to school in time for lunch.  

Admission to parents and supporters is free, and they are welcome.  I hope they will come.  There will be a bucket collection at the end of the morning's performances to help defray the cost of biscuits and squash supplied to the children in the interval.

The same three schools - Ashlands Primary, All Saints CE Primary and Burley Oaks Primary - are taking part and I know It will be a wonderful and an amazing
